Rangers are interested in signing Genk defender Mujaid Sadick, according to Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The Ibrox club are keen to strengthen their squad across all departments to support new manager Danny Rohl.
The Spanish defender has spent five seasons in the Belgian top-flight and recently extended his contract until 2028.
However, he could be on his way out in the coming months if Rangers make a concrete move for him.
They need reinforcements in the second half of the season following an underwhelming start to the campaign.
Rangers have lost all four Europa League games this term, suffering a 2-0 loss to AS Roma last night at Ibrox following earlier defeats agaisnt Brann, Sturm Graz and Genk.
Sadick played all 90 minutes when the two clubs met in September, and it appears he caught their eye with his solid performance.
Rohl will be desperate to ensure Rangers finish the season well, and his defence could do with an upgrade.
More transfer targets will emerge in the weeks leading up to the winter transfer window, and Rangers need to sign several quality players if they want to end the campaign well.
Rangers switch their attention back to the Scottish Premiership this weekend with a trip to Dundee.
