Here are two alternatives for Zan Vipotnik if he departs Swansea City for a fellow English side

Zan Vipotnik is set to be a wanted man this summer, with Swansea City possibly looking to once again cash in on a free-scoring frontman.

The Slovenian has enjoyed a breakout year, after his first in England saw him net just seven times in 42 games. This year, he's right at the top of the Championship top scorer charts, and with two years left on his deal come the summer, this off-season may be the perfect time for him to leave.

Swansea have slapped a £15 million price tag on his head, with Rangers reportedly showing an interest in seeing the 23-year-old move from Wales to Scotland, per Football FanCast.

But, if the Glaswegians are to make good on this interest, they will have to shatter the SPL transfer record to bring him in, if the valuation is to be met, as the reported £15 million surpasses the £12 million that Rangers paid for Tore Andre Flo way back in 2000.

So, if Rangers' bid falls short, then here are two English sides, one in the Premier League and one in the Championship, who could look to boost their attacking ranks with a Vipotnik arrival.

2 ? ? Burnley

Quite a few people have Burnley down and out in the Premier League's relegation battle, even with an upturn in performances over the past few weeks. With time running out, it may not be long before the Clarets are preparing for Championship football once again.

If they do so, they could perhaps take a leaf out of Leeds United's book from three years ago, and buy Swansea's top scorer to help them on their way to what would be a third consecutive Championship promotion in as many seasons at the level.

Plus, despite earning some plaudits this season in the top flight as a striker, and he may end the campaign in double digits for goals, Zian Flemming's best goalscoring years at Millwall and Fortuna Sittard came as an attacking midfielder.

A move for Vipotnik would allow the 27-year-old to move back to sitting behind the striker, where he's comfortable playing, and bring in someone who would likely be coming into the campaign netting 20+ goals in the same division.

The Swans' frontman has enjoyed a ruthless campaign in front of goal, scoring a high percentage of his shots, so playing for a side expected to dominate proceedings and finish right at the top would ideally result in yet another fruitful campaign in front of goal.

1 ? ? Ipswich Town

However, if the Premier League ends up being the destination, a move to a newly-promoted side may be the likeliest of choices, and despite George Hirst being a reliable option for Kieran McKenna, if Ipswich Town do go up, they'll need an upgrade.

It may be a risk to bring in someone who has yet to play Premier League football before, especially given that signing highly-rated Championship stars didn't exactly work the last time Ipswich were in the top flight, but Viptonik could excel at being a frontman in a newly-promoted side.

In the top flight, sides like Ipswich, who will be expected to play a lot without the ball, will rely on strong strikers to progress them up the field and to score the limited chances that they will create in games against better sides.

So, bringing in someone like Vipotnik, who has been that profile of striker in the Championship this season, scoring a high percentage of shots at a low xG, may be exactly what the Tractor Boys need to make their Premier League status stick.

That is, obviously, if they do end up getting promoted this season. If they don't, then they'll be a similar side to Burnley in the Championship, expected to dominate and create plenty of opportunities for a finisher like Vipotnik. So, either way, he'd be a good option for Kieran McKenna's Ipswich outfit.
