Rangers With ‘Low’ Chance Of Signing Target Due To ‘Significant Gap’ | OneFootball

Besiktas have not taken ‘aggressive steps’ to offload Rangers target Vaclav Cerny in the ongoing window and the chances of a move to Ibrox for the winger are currently rated as ‘low’.

Rangers have been active in the market to back their new boss, Derek McInnes, who is heading a squad rebuild to bring back the glory days.

However, the Gers have had a rocky start to the season with elimination from the Europa League and Conference League, while Rangers sit seventh in the league table already five points behind table toppers Celtic.

Now with two more days remaining in the window, Rangers are looking to bring back a former player in the form of Cerny.

The Gers are in negotiations with Besiktas to sign Cerny, who joined the Turkish outfit from Wolfsburg last summer and has two more years left on his deal.

On Saturday, it was suggested that Rangers initially made a verbal offer to Besiktas and they are ready to make an official offer to make their intention to sign the winger clear.

According to Turkish outlet Spor Depor, the Besiktas hierarchy have not taken ‘very aggressive steps’ to offload Cerny this summer.

The bid has gone in to Besiktas, but there is a ‘significant gap’ between what wages Rangers are offering Cerny and the amount he earns in Turkey.

Besiktas are also not satisfied by the proposal on the table from Rangers and it is suggested that the chances of a deal happening at the moment are ‘low’.

Cerny in the early days of the window was not keen on a move out of Besiktas and the 28-year-old’s stance has not changed yet.

Rangers will have to step in their hunt for Cerny if they want to get a deal done by the end of this transfer window and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to get the job done.
