Roma manager Claudio Ranieri was very critical of the refereeing display in tonight’s 1-1 draw with Porto.
After the match, Ranieri addressed reporters in his post-match presser.
In particular, Ranieri was furious with referee designator Rosetti.
“There’s a friend of mine who told me that he was the one who designated Anthony Taylor for the Europa League final a few years ago, so it all makes sense now. It’s a fact.”
“I know that this referee is a man of integrity, but this is too much. What does he have to prove? He is a serious person. I don’t understand him. In the last 21 games he has refereed, the home team has drawn away 8 times.”
“We performed a miracle today. I asked for a substitution on the corner, the ball goes out and we take a second one: let us make the substitution. No, we continue, he says. What do you mean? What is this?”
“Eight yellow cards, I have never seen anything like this. It’s not the referee’s fault, and it’s not Rosetti’s fault, he just needs to be a little more careful when he makes the designations.”
