As we prepare for the return of Premier League football this weekend, what better time to take stock of the season so far?

Here are our five favourite goals scored in 2024/25.

5. Andres Pereira – Manchester City vs FULHAM

Sometimes the beauty of a goal is in its creation and has there been a better assist than this from Raul Jimenez? It was a moment of magic from the Mexican to help his side open the scoring against Manchester City at the Etihad, an audacious delivery for Pereira to turn home.

4. Darwin Nunez – LIVERPOOL vs Bournemouth

Darwin Nunez has a tendency to make fans pull their hair out with the Liverpool forward flitting between the sublime and the ridiculous in a red shirt. Sometimes, he’s capable of both in one game but this strike against Bournemouth certainly fits into the former category.

The Uruguayan opened his account for the Premier League campaign with a beauty of a bending finish against the Cherries.

3. James Justin – Arsenal vs LEICESTER

Leicester gave Arsenal a fright in their meeting at the Emirates in September, as the Foxes fought back from two goals down to level before ultimately falling to defeat in stoppage time.

James Justin was the unlikely lead of the Leicester fightback, scoring twice in North London. The right-back’s equaliser was something special, a volley with just the right amount of fade to arc into the far corner.

2. Jhon Duran – ASTON VILLA vs Everton

Jhon Duran has been one of the stories of the season at Aston Villa, with the Colombian changing games from the bench for Unai Emery’s side.

Duran made sure the three points were Villa’s against Everton in September, when he unleashed this spectacular strike. Unstoppable.

1. Cole Palmer – CHELSEA vs Brighton

You just don’t save those.

Cole Palmer’s made a habit of producing jaw-dropping moments in a Chelsea shirt and his four-goal performance against Brighton earlier this season was another highlight to the ever-growing reel. Palmer became the first player in Premier League history to score four first-half goals in a game and completed his hat-trick with this fabulous free-kick.
