Moroccan defender for Paris Saint-Germain, Achraf Hakimi, once again finds himself at the center of a legal storm. The 27-year-old Moroccan international has been referred to the departmental criminal court in a rape case dating back to 2023. This decision now paves the way for a highly anticipated trial, as the player continues to assert his innocence and vows to bring the truth to light in court.

On his X account, the Moroccan international reaffirmed his position:

"Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial even when I contest it and everything shows it is false. This is as unfair for the innocent as it is for genuine victims. I am calmly awaiting this trial, which will allow the truth to come out publicly."

The criminal lawyer was particularly forceful in her analysis of the case:

"We are waiting for this trial with determination and a fighting spirit so that justice can prevail. A trial has been ordered based on an accusation that relies solely on the word of a woman who has obstructed every investigation, refused all medical examinations and DNA testing, refused to allow her mobile phone to be analyzed, and refused to provide the name of a key witness. This is a woman whose two successive psychological assessments revealed a lack of clarity about the facts she claims to denounce, and moreover, no sign of any post-traumatic symptoms. All this while she tried to hide from the judicial authorities several messages exchanged with one of her friends, planning to 'rip off' (sic) Mr. Hakimi."

She also challenged the strength of the accusation, arguing that the case rests essentially on "the sole word of a woman."
