Barcelona continued their 100% record for the 2026-27 season in spectacular style on Wednesday, as they demolished Racing de Santander 7-2 at the Spotify Camp Nou. Goals from Joao Cancelo, Raphinha (x3), Asier Villalibre (OG), Gabriel Jesus and Lamine Yamal ensured another comprehensive victory for Hansi Flick’s side, who return to being three points clear at the top of La Liga.

Starting XI

Joan Garcia – 6/10

Forced off at half time with a worrying-looking knee injury, which will be assessed in the next 24 hours. When he was on the pitch, he was untested, although he did concede to Maguette Gueye.

Eric Garcia – 7/10

Eric is undisputed at right-back, and he deserved to be. Barcelona are much more solid in that area when he’s playing, and this was another case where he kept things quiet down his side.

Andreas Christensen – 6.5/10

Could have scored at least once from a corner, but it hasn’t to be. In defence, he looked pretty solid.

Gerard Martin – 6.5/10

Had a shaky moment in the first half, although he made up for it in the second with a clearance off the line.

Joao Cancelo – 8/10

Flick has a very good problem to deal with on the left side of defence. Xavi Espart has been exemplary when he’s played, but Cancelo ramped up the pressure on Wednesday with a top-class performance, capped off by two ferocious strikes – one that is counted as his goal, with the other deflected in via Villalibre.

Rodri – 7.5/10

Helped dominate the middle of the park. He’s made a fantastic impact since joining from Manchester City, and that continued here – and he even got to rest for the final half hour, which will keep him fresh for the weekend match against Sevilla.

Pedri – 7.5/10

It’s been a slightly underwhelming start to the season for Pedri, who’s struggled to find his place alongside Rodri. Fortunately, this was a much more typical performance from the 23-year-old, who also got a nice rest before Sevilla on Saturday.

Dani Olmo – 8/10

He’s had to play second-fiddle to Fermin Lopez in the opening weeks of the season, but he’s not lost any sharpness by regularly being on the bench. Set up Raphinha’s second goal, and but for a poor finish from Karim Adeyemi, he’d have had another assist.

Lamine Yamal – 8.5/10

A frustrating night for the teenager, and yet, he still walked away with a goal and two assists. He saw a penalty saved by Racing goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala in the first half, but he managed to find the back of the net late on after being set up by Adeyemi.

Raphinha – 10/10

Right now, there is no better player in world football than Raphinha. A first hat-trick of the season for the Brazilian, who was clinical in from of goal – he’s now on 11 for the season after only seven matches, with three assists also added in.

Karim Adeyemi – 9/10

Had it not been for Raphinha, Adeyemi would surely have been the MVP for Barcelona. He was a constant threat on the left wing, and while he did not score, he laid on Lamine Yamal for the Catalans’ seventh goal, while he also drew fouls for the two penalties that Flick’s side won.

Substitutes

Wojciech Szczesny – 5.5/10

A rare appearance for the veteran goalkeeper, who was forced into action when Garcia was forced off. He was caught cold in the 65th minute when the ball got caught in his feet which allowed Racing to score their second, although he redeemed himself somewhat with a fantastic late save.

Gavi – 6.5/10

Important minutes for Gavi, who’s struggled to get on the pitch this season. 100% successful passes, one interception and one aerial duel won tells a promising story for the midfielder.

Marc Bernal – 6/10

He did fine during his 30-minute cameo, with the important thing being more minutes in the legs.

Gabriel Jesus – 7/10

Jesus has played less than 45 minutes since joining Barcelona, and yet, he’s already scored twice. His goal against Racing was excellent, as he opened his foot to find the far corner in emphatic fashion.
