FC Barcelona were barely able to win their last league game against Leganes and got the full three points only after an own-goal from the opposition defender Jorge Saenz.
The Catalans had to fight very hard for these three points, which keep them four points clear of Real Madrid after the Merengues returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Alaves on Sunday.
However, only a few hours after the exhausting game against Leganes, in which Alejandro Balde suffered a muscle injury and two other players also faced physical problems, the Blaugranes have already returned to train for the upcoming UEFA Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.
Mundo Deportivo has provided some insights into this training session, which gives a good indication of the Barcelona team’s situation ahead of their visit to Germany.
As is usually the case, the starters in the game against Leganes stayed and worked inside the facilities to undergo specific training, while the substitutes got on the pitch for a more intense session.
Raphinha and Ronald Araujo, both having faced problems in the last game, received specific treatment to help them with their discomforts.
The Brazilian forward faced problems with his ankle after receiving a tackle late in the game, while the Uruguayan defender was subbed out at half-time because of discomfort in his right thigh. Still, both players are ready to feature in the game against Dortmund.
On the other hand, midfielder Dani Olmo has been given the medical green light and will be able to participate in the upcoming UCL match. Although he might not start just yet, he can get some minutes to build up his competitive rhythm. Similarly, Marc Andre Ter Stegen is also getting closer to his return to training with the rest of his teammates.
Barcelona are set to travel to Germany today for the second leg of the UCL quarter-final tie. With a 4-0 advantage from the first leg, the Blaugranes will be in the pole position to make their way to the semi-finals.
