Raphinha makes feelings clear on Barcelona future: “I signed until 2028…” | OneFootball

Despite having been one of the most important players for FC Barcelona in the last two years, the forward Raphinha was one of the players whose future at the Catalan club came under doubt during the last summer transfer window.

As had been the case in other transfer windows in recent years, the Brazilian was once again linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, and these links were strengthened significantly as some bizarre reports about his personal financial situation came to the fore.

Ultimately, he ended up staying at the Blaugrana club, and given the way he has started the new season, this is already proving to be the best outcome, both for the club and the player. He has already scored eleven goals in seven games so far, and is playing some of the best football of his career.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the forward recently appeared in an interview with RAC1, in which he talked about his changed role in the team. In addition to this, Raphinha also talked about his future at the Catalan club, and declared his openness to signing a new contract:

“When I renewed my contract, I signed until 2028 with the idea that I would be 30 or 31 years old and I didn’t know what my physical condition would be like, but given how I have started the season, I have enough in me for a few more years, and I would be very happy to extend my contract… Hopefully, I can finish my career here without having to go somewhere else.”

The forward also recognized that he is going through a particularly good moment professionally:

“And you could say that I am at the best moment of my career.”

Meanwhile, the Brazil star also admitted that he had some tempting offers from Saudi Arabia:

“As for those summer rumours, nothing has come of them. They come from all over the place. I will only leave if the manager says he is not counting on me, but if I deliver, I will stay.”

“Saudi Arabia has always tempted me. In 2024, I received a very good offer; it would have changed many lives in my family. The figures were very tempting.”

These comments from Raphinha would be very reassuring for Barcelona fans, as he remains one of the most beloved players in the team. Hopefully, he will continue playing at this level for several years to come, and help his team win several more big trophies.
