The FC Barcelona forward Raphinha is going through a stretch of a difficult period. He did not end the last season in the best fashion, suffering an injury that kept him unavailable for a crucial part of the season.
Now a part of the Brazil national team, he faced criticism for the underwhelming display of the Canarinha against Morocco, and also suffered a relapse of his hamstring injury, which means he is set to miss the upcoming game against Scotland.
Meanwhile, his future at the Blaugrana club has also become subject to a lot of uncertainty. Some Saudi Arabian clubs are once again looking to snatch him from Barcelona, and some reports and rumors from Brazil have not entirely helped matters.
Firstly, a report from his native country suggested that he would start talks with Al-Hilal after the World Cup, and then, a former Brazilian footballer, Vampeta, claimed that he was facing some family problems, that he believes would be solved with a move to Saudi Arabia.
In such a context, Mundo Deportivo claims that Raphinha’s family has put the record straight with a statement of them, in which they have addressed both his injury and his future plans.
Regarding the injury, they clarify that the issue is not as serious as previously feared, and it is only a minor issue. Thus, he will return in time for a potential quarter-final tie for his country in the World Cup.
Meanwhile, about his future, his family stated:
“Regarding his departure, there’s nothing to worry about. He’s focused on the national team and very happy at Barcelona.”
Furthermore, the winger’s family also denied the reports of any problems in the player’s personal life, and highlighted that his wife, children, and brother are all in the USA to support him in the World Cup.
With these comments, Raphinha’s family has clarified the winger’s situation to a large extent, including about his physical condition and his future plans. Hopefully, there rumors would subside soon, and he would have another great season at Barcelona next year.
