Roma is working to give Gian Piero Gasperini a striker. Currently, the most talked-about options are Germany, with Antonio Nusa and Said El Mala appearing as solid names for the Giallorossi, but the club is also working quietly, evaluating other options.

And a transfer intrigue could unfold with Manchester United, involving Marcus Rashford and Manu Koné.

The Red Devils must decide whether to make a move for the Frenchman.

But at Trigoria, the English winger’s name would be a welcome prospect for the Grugliasco-based coach, who could finally have a quality player at his disposal for the left-back position (right-footed). However, the hurdle of his salary remains.

Regardless of Rashford’s adaptability to Gasperini’s ideas, the Englishman currently earns €11 million net per season, well above the salary cap the Roman club intends to meet.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, there is a way that could unlock the deal. Manchester United could offer the 1997-born player to the Giallorossi in the negotiations for Koné. The deal is expected to involve a loan deal with the Red Devils covering part of his salary. This option seems unlikely, but it shouldn’t be completely ruled out.
