Manchester United loanee made his return from injury on Tuesday evening, coming off the bench as Napoli secured a narrow win against Lecce.
Having joined United from Napoli on an initial loan deal during the summer transfer window, Hojlund has enjoyed a dramatic uptick in form and fortunes in Italy.
However, his progress was hampered by an injury which ruled him out of action for three games.
Before he picked up the issue, Hojlund had netted four goals for Napoli in six appearances. He also managed six shots (five on target) and three key passes.
Hojlund was spotted in training on Monday, fuelling speculation that he was on the verge of making a sensational return after a brief period on the sidelines.
The Dane was named on the bench for Napoli’s 1-0 Serie A victory over Lecce. Seemingly not fit enough to start, Hojlund was overlooked, with Antonio Conte preferring to deploy Lorenzo Lucca up front.
With the game delicately balanced at 0-0, Conte looked to his bench and brought on Hojlund and Scott McTominay in the 61st minute.
Hojlund replaced the struggling Lucca.
Six minutes after Hojlund’s introduction, Napoli goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic denied on-loan AC Milan wonderkid Francesco Camarda from the penalty spot.
It proved to be a costly moment for Lecce as Napoli took the lead in the 69th minute through André-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
During the time he was on the pitch, Hojlund didn’t get a shot off, whether on target or off target. He successfully delivered four of the five passes he attempted. One was a key pass.
The United loanee touched the ball 16 times. He was beaten in all eight duels that he vied for.

The result has catapulted Napoli to the top of the Serie A table.
Hojlund will be hoping to start on Saturday when Napoli host Como at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
