A mural of Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold in the city of Liverpool has on Tuesday been vandalised.

This of course comes ahead of the defender’s homecoming later today.

Alexander-Arnold has long had a painting dedicated to him in the vicinity of Anfield, in recognition of the Englishman’s endeavours whilst donning the colours of Premier League champions Liverpool.

The mural features the player himself, alongside a quote once laid out by TAA, reading:

”I’m just a normal lad from Liverpool whose dream has just come true.”

As alluded to above, though, on Tuesday, ahead of an emotional evening for the right-back, his personal piece of Merseyside has been vandalised.

As per a report from Marca, graffiti has been painted over the mural, labelling Alexander-Arnold ‘a rat’.

Mere hours out from his return to his former stomping grounds with Real Madrid, the 27-year-old has been provided with a harsh reminder that some among the Liverpool fanbase have still not forgiven Alexander-Arnold for departing.
