Raúl Jiménez could be back at América for Apertura 2026, the first tournament after the 2026 World Cup.

His Fulham contract expires mid year and, according to El Heraldo, the club do not intend to renew, leaving him a free agent in June.

Jiménez left América in 2014 for 10.5 million euros to join Atlético de Madrid. Twelve years on, he has had ups and downs but has remained at the highest level, and at 34 is enjoying a strong season with Fulham in the Premier League.

For years he has spoken of retiring with América. In recent weeks, the club hierarchy were said to have opened talks to persuade him to return in the next campaign, potentially as a free agent.

Any deal is far from straightforward. Despite his age he remains in good form, so offers from Europe, Arabia or MLS would not be a surprise.
