Fulham have confirmed that Raul Jimenez will leave the club this summer, with Wolves having held talks with the striker about returning to Molineux.
Wolves are expected to be very busy in the transfer window, as the club looks to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt next season.
Rob Edwards failed to have a positive impact on the team after his appointment in November, but there was an understanding that he had inherited a group that were nowhere near the level of the top flight.
However, it will be a different story next season, as there is pressure on Wanderers to go up, but they have had a positive start to the window, with Andre signing a new contract, and Kieran Trippier is poised to join.

But, that’s just the beginning, and there could be a major overhaul of the playing squad at Molineux.
Each fan will have their own feelings about where Wolves should prioritise, but most would agree that bringing in a new striker is pivotal.
There have been links to several number nines over the past few weeks, which includes a return to the club for Raul Jimenez.

The Mexican is a modern-day legend at Wolves after his starring role for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side, which was the best team seen at Molineux in decades.
Since leaving Wolves, he has continued to impress for Fulham, with Jimenez scoring nine Premier League goals last season.
However, with his contract at Craven Cottage expiring, the 35-year-old’s future has been in doubt, and Jimenez confirmed that he has held discussions with Wolves over a move.
And, in a fresh development, Fulham have announced that Jimenez will be leaving, so that puts an end to any idea that he could extend his stay in the capital.
This is going to be a difficult deal for Wolves to do, but it’s obviously a positive that Fulham will not be keeping Jimenez.

The immediate priority for Jimenez will be helping Mexico in the World Cup, so you would imagine he will wait until they are out of the tournament before assessing his future.
There are certain to be several offers on the table for Jimenez, and a productive World Cup will only increase his options, but we do know that Wolves are a club that is very close to his heart.
So, Wolves may need to be patient here, but it could be worth the wait if they do manage to bring him back to Molineux.
As outlined above, he found the net nine times last season, and he managed 12 in the 2024/25 campaign, so he still has a lot to offer in front of goal. Furthermore, Jimenez is also an intelligent footballer, and his link-up play, movement and ability to hold the ball up would make him an excellent player in the Championship.
Edwards would need to manage him carefully over 46 games, but Jimenez is a clear upgrade on what Wolves have right now, and the emotional aspect can’t be understated, as his return would lift the mood around the club massively.
Ultimately, Jimenez has a big decision to make on his future after the World Cup, and if Wolves can convince him to return, it would be a statement signing as they look to push for promotion.
