There is no doubt that one of the most outstanding players in the semester has been Raúl Rangel, who during the first two episodes of this week's El Clásico de México trilogy had several key actions, which had a direct impact on the results after keeping a clean sheet in both matches and on the confidence shown by his teammates.

The impact of 'Tala' has been such that during last Saturday's game against the Águilas, corresponding to the 11th date of the Clausura 2025, he equaled an incredible record that belonged to a Rojiblanca legend for several decades. Rangel replicated the feat set by the very champion 'Nacho' Calderón, by keeping four clean sheets in his first six matches against the Azulcremas.

Rangel's tremendous skills, plus his unwavering character, have led him to stand out since the day of his debut just a year and a half ago. Such has been his growth that, in addition to establishing himself as the starting goalkeeper for the Rebaño Sagrado, he has gained a leading role as one of the best goalkeepers in Liga MX and is even in the fight to be the star goalkeeper for the Mexican National Team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With only 51 games in the national championship, the Rojiblanco goalkeeper has kept the clean sheet on 20 occasions, almost 40 percent of the games he has played. At the age of 25, Raúl has distinguished himself for being a brave goalkeeper in the air, with spectacular reflexes and great quality in his footwork, making him the most complete goalkeeper in Mexico, which has earned him praise from Javier Aguirre, current coach of El Tri.
