Raúl Sánchez is being linked with a move back to CD Castellón, with reports in Mexico treating his return as a formality after his transfer to Necaxa last summer. The Madrid-born wing-back would be a significant addition for Pablo Hernández’s side.
His comments on the club’s PPOdcast months ago, a nod to a possible return, have gained fresh relevance. In that episode he spoke warmly about the club and the city.
“I have great affection for Castellón and, one day, I would like to retire here, because I do not rule out living here in the future,” he said on the club’s PPOdcast.
“I watch every match, and after games I often speak with Bob, or with Isra or Cala, we always discuss the matches and I see it all.”
It has been a busy Tuesday for Castellón. The club confirmed in the early afternoon that Nick Markanich has joined Houston Dynamo on loan until 31 December. His exit follows Óscar Gil’s move to Real Murcia, and Kenneth Mamah could be made official in the coming hours.
Mamah, 27, was influential early last season before injury checked his progress. He scored 4 goals in 24 games that term, and has 14 appearances and one goal this season, the clincher at Cultural Leonesa.
