Sunderland supporters' group Red and White Army (RAWA) has criticised the club's handling of ticketing problems, citing poor communication and unresolved cases affecting long-standing fans.

According to Sunderland Echo, the group had urged a pause on the release of unrenewed season tickets, a step they say was ignored, with sales continuing despite many outstanding cases.

RAWA said the pause would have eased the process and recognised the loyalty and circumstances of supporters facing difficulties. They also said their request did not receive a final response, reflecting what they view as a wider recent pattern in dealings with the club.

In recent days, the group has heard from many long-standing season-ticket holders reporting extremely poor customer service. Some feel overlooked when seeking to move seats despite years of backing the club.

RAWA said it hopes Sunderland will re-engage constructively so those affected can reach a fair, satisfactory resolution.

The statement adds to scrutiny of the club's ticketing operation following promotion to the Premier League, with supporters sharing detailed accounts about renewals, seat moves and pricing structures. The club declined to comment when approached this week.
