Vasco da Gama have been handed fresh hope over Rayan’s future amid renewed doubt around a transfer to Bournemouth and the prospect of larger bidders entering the frame.
Extra reports that the player, his parents and representatives are still not convinced the Bournemouth proposal is as irresistible as it appears, a stance welcomed inside São Januário.
That uncertainty around joining a mid-table English side has opened the door to heavier hitters. Newcastle, currently eighth in the Premier League and home to Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton, have emerged as an interested party. Vasco are waiting for a formal approach.
In Germany, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked, and Vasco expect official movement. Both have a track record of developing young talent.
For now, proposals from Zenit and Bournemouth sit around 35 million euros. Vasco have set a floor at 40 million euros and will hold firm until that threshold is met.
The stance is underlined by plans for Wednesday 21. Rested in the draw with Nova Iguaçu, Rayan is confirmed to face Flamengo at the Maracanã in the Clássico dos Milhões, welcome news for supporters who feared an early farewell.
