Brilliant Manchester United attacking target Rayan may have just issued a massive come-and-get-me plea.
In the winter, AFC Bournemouth moved decisively to snap up Rayan from Brazilian outfit Vasco.
Over 34 games in the 2025 Brazilian league, the 19-year-old, comfortable out wide or centrally, scored 14 goals and drew wide attention.
Although top European clubs, Manchester United included, were linked with his services, they never pressed ahead with a deal. Bournemouth did, and it has turned out to be a transfer masterstroke.
Since arriving in England, Rayan has looked right at home thanks to his technical brilliance and athleticism. He has helped the Cherries cope without Antoine Semenyo; indeed, with him in the side, they remain unbeaten in eight games.
His tally stands at two goals and an assist, yet beyond the numbers, his performances have brimmed with promise. So exciting has he been that talk already links him with a future £86.5 million move from the Vitality Stadium to Old Trafford.
While INEOS continue to monitor the Brazilian teen sensation, he has now spoken openly about his desire to earn that big move through his exploits on the South Coast.
“It is every player’s dream to be on a high-level shelf,” Rayan told Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.
“Bournemouth presented a very good project to me. By doing a good job there, whether other clubs are watching or not, they will pay attention.”
If that is not a come-and-get-me plea, then what is? It is clear Rayan intends to keep impressing at Bournemouth, earn his big move, and then take the next step.
Manchester United could have snapped him up for the £30 million deal that Bournemouth agreed to, but they were not willing to gamble. Now they may have to break the bank for his services.
All in all, if Rayan continues to prove a hit, United’s ambitions could make it less about the cost and more about simply getting him on board.
Able to play on either wing or through the middle, Rayan could yet be Manchester United’s answer to the Semenyo transfer snub.
