As communicated by AS, Rayo Vallecano are close to completing the signing of Diego Costa on a free transfer.
In July it was reported that the Madrid-based side have presented an offer to Diego Costa to play for them in the upcoming season.
According to El Chiringuito, an agreement has been reached between the two sides and the 33-year-old could be presented as a Rayo Vallecano player as soon as next Thursday.
Diego Costa has been without a club since his contract with Atlético Mineiro was terminated in January 2022.
He will join Radamel Falcao, with whom he formed a lethal striker partnership that produced 38 goals for Atlético Madrid in the 2012-2013 season.
With the arrival of Sergio Camello from Atléti this week as well, Rayo Vallecano are putting together a side that can potentially push for the European places in their La Liga campaign that kicks off next week against Barcelona.
