Rayo Vallecano have reached an agreement to sign former striker Diego Costa, according to Radio Marca.
The veteran sign will return to Vallecas for the 2022-23 season, boosting Andoni Iraola’s forward line as the Madrid-based club look to improve on last season.
Costa will be joined in attack by former Atlético Madrid striker Radamel Falcao and Sergio Camello, who is currently on loan from Diego Simeone’s side for the season.
The 33-year-old played with Rayo in the second half of the 2011-12 campaign, on loan from Atlético Madrid.
In the 2012-13 campaign with Atlético Madrid, Costa and Falcao formed a lethal striker partnership that produced 38 goals.
Costa has been without a club since his contract with Brazilian outfit Atlético Mineiro was terminated in January of this year.
