Rayo Vallecano send contract offer to AS Roma star | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Rayo Vallecano have this weekend stepped up the club’s efforts to add to their options at the heart of defence.

This comes amid confirmation that the capital side have forwarded a contract proposal to AS Roma stopper Marash Kumbulla.

Kumbulla for his part spent each of the last two seasons plying his trade in La Liga, first with Espanyol, and then RCD Mallorca. The latter campaign, in 2025/26, proved to be a major disappointment, as a pair of long-term fitness problems culminated in just five league starts.

The 26-year-old’s reputation nevertheless remained intact in Spain, though, giving rise to links with a host of clubs over recent weeks.

And as alluded to above, over the last 24 hours, one such suitor have ramped up their pursuit. As per a report from transfer market insider Matteo Moretto:

‘Rayo Vallecano are pushing for Marash Kumbulla. The Madrid club have submitted a contract offer to the Roma player.’

It now remains to be seen if the Albanian is interested in taking his talents to Vallecas, on what would likely be a loan with an option to buy next summer.
