Juanmi Latasa is one step away from joining Rayo Vallecano from Real Madrid after the Vallecas club beat off other offers for the forward from Cádiz and Mallorca, according to Mario Cortegana of Marca.
The intention with this move by both Real Madrid and the striker is to be able to enjoy game time in the top flight of Spanish football.
It will be a loan deal between the two clubs. Rayo is one of the most attractive destinations as the 21-year-old can continue living in the Spanish capital and develop as a player under the highly-rated Andoni Iraola.
“We play with just one up front, so we understand that we only need three centre forwards in the squad,” Iraola said.
Radamel Falcao, Sergio Camello and Latasa look to be the Basque coach’s attacking options at Rayo in 2022-23.
Latasa has represented Spain at U19 and at U20 level, he scored two goals in four games for La Roja.
