German giants RB Leipzig are in talks to land Napoli star Eljif Elmas in the January transfer window.
Elmas has been linked with clubs in the past but the North Macedonia international has never quite managed to become a regular at the Partenopei.
Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Leipzig have opened talks with Napoli about potentially signing the 24-year-old and they have already submitted an offer to sign the midfielder. The offer is at €25 million and talks between the two clubs remain ongoing.
Elmas is said to be open to leaving the Maradona and he could be open to trying a new challenge next year, having failed to fully break into the side under different managers. The move is said to be making progress and it is very much on.
Elmas has made 11 appearances in Serie A, scoring two goals but he has played only 334 minutes of first-team football in the league and it is easy to see why he would like a change of clubs.
