RB Leipzig await opening offer from Chelsea for Xavi Simons | OneFootball

Xavi Simons’ (22) development has been nothing short of exceptional. After an already impressive maiden campaign in the Bundesliga on loan from Paris Saint-Germain – which prompted the Saxony club to sign the playmaker on a permanent basis, the Dutchman registered 10 goals and seven assists in just 25 games last season – averaging a goal contribution every 126.8 minutes.

His performances has attracted interest from Premier League outfit Chelsea with negotiations ongoing but as of now, it’s nothing more than that. Philipp Hinze reports that Benjamin Sesko’s situation is currently more intense and advanced after Newcastle United submitted an opening offer of €75m + €5m to sign the Slovenian forward, which was swiftly rejected by Leipzig.

Hinze notes that Xavi Simons to Chelsea can only get advanced once Chelsea submit an opening offer for the player, which RB Leipzig are waiting for. Progress has been slow in the last 48 hours but it’s known that Xavi is pushing for a move away from the Red Bull club.
