RB Leipzig loan Joyeux Masanka Bungi to New York Red Bulls

RB Leipzig have loaned 19-year-old left-back Joyeux Masanka Bungi to New York Red Bulls until 30 June 2026.

According to BuLi News, the move is aimed at giving him MLS minutes and helping the next step in his career.

Masanka Bungi joined Leipzig from KRC Genk’s under-18s on a free at the start of 2023, entering the club’s under-17 set-up.

He made 56 appearances for Leipzig’s Bundesliga youth side, scoring 10 goals and supplying eight assists.

He signed his first professional deal in February 2025 and, last December, was named in the first-team squad to face 1.FC Union Berlin.

Leipzig’s managing director of sport Marcel Schäfer said the loan offers a high-level environment in a new league, can accelerate his development, and that they still see his future in Leipzig, wishing both player and New York success in the months ahead.
