RB Leipzig have joined the race to sign Southampton’s Tyler Dibling (18) and, according to Florian Plettenberg, the Bundesliga side are ready to pay €30m for the Englishman.
But Southampton are holding out for a fee in excess of £25m (€30m) given that Tottenham Hotspur are other, unnamed Premier League clubs, are interested in signing Dibling, with European clubs also showing an interest, per Plettenberg.
With a contract until 2027, Leipzig are planning for a summer transfer, at the latest. Dibling, who can operate central-attacking areas or on the right-wing, has featured in all but two Premier League games for Southampton this season, scoring two goals.
It’s been a busy week at Leipzig following the appointment of Sebastian Schuppan as sporting director, signing Arthur Vermeeren on a permanent basis, as well as securing the transfer of Wolfsburg’s Ridle Baku.
With over a week left remaining in the transfer window, it’s entirely possible that they could make a move for Dibling as the Saxony club look to strengthen following a disappointing Champions League campaign, while they lost 2-1 at Stuttgart after leading, and threw away a three-goal lead in Bochum on Saturday.
