Leeds United and West Ham are being linked with El Chadaille Bitshiabu ahead of January. Leeds are expected to be active despite Robbie Evans’ PSR remarks, with the 49ers aiming to give Daniel Farke every chance to stay up.
Bild claims RB Leipzig want the £13m defender to stay, with Castello Lukeba set to go, Willi Orban aged 33 and Lucas Klostermann viewed as past his peak.
Bitshiabu joined from PSG in 2023 and has made 39 senior appearances for Leipzig. In his third season he has featured only five times, so game time in January could appeal.
Leeds are said to be confident of beating West Ham to the six ft five in centre-back. Any move would depend on Leipzig’s stance and the player’s willingness to wait for an opening.
Max Eberl, who ran Leipzig’s recruitment in 2023, oversaw his signing and praised his speed, aerial strength, combative edge and composure on the ball, adding that his left foot fitted their profile.
With three of Leeds’ four centre-backs right-footed, a fifth addition would logically be left-sided. For now, Leipzig are not looking to sell the French defender.
