RB Leipzig ‘to prepare’ €60m offer for Cologne’s Said El Mala | OneFootball

RB Leipzig are readying a €60m package for Cologne’s 19-year-old attacker Said El Mala after Borussia Dortmund ended their pursuit, Sport Bild reports.

The proposal includes €50m guaranteed, €5m in easily achievable bonuses and another €5m linked to exceptional sporting success. Cologne would also receive a percentage of any future resale.

Such an offer would meet Cologne’s demand for at least €50m guaranteed, the key condition throughout talks with Dortmund. BVB came close, yet had four bids rejected.

El Mala is understood to be open to joining Leipzig and discussed a potential move with team-mates as early as Thursday, before Dortmund had formally stepped away. He also remains open to joining another Bundesliga club.

Head coach René Wagner has indicated the speculation has not affected El Mala’s training levels. Sporting director Thomas Kessler said on Sunday there is currently no reason to doubt he will remain with the club.
