RB Leipzig ‘to sign’ Chelsea striker Marc Guiu for under €20m | OneFootball

RB Leipzig are close to completing the signing of Chelsea striker Marc Guiu. Fabrizio Romano reports that Leipzig have a full agreement with Chelsea over a permanent deal for the 20-year-old. Sky Germany adds that the base fee is under €20m, with Chelsea expected to include a sell-on clause.

Guiu is being lined up to bolster Martín Demichelis' attack. With Rômulo sidelined by knee tendon irritation, he missed the DFB-Pokal opener against Eintracht Trier and will also miss Saturday's Bundesliga opener at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Tidiam Gomis led the line in the cup win.

Christopher Nkunku's return is expected to strengthen options immediately. The Frenchman is fit and can play centre-forward, false nine, No. 10 or either wing. Guiu offers a more natural focal point.

A Barcelona academy product, Guiu joined Chelsea in 2024 for around €6m. He briefly went on loan at Sunderland before being recalled after only three appearances. Last season he recorded three goals and two assists in 16 competitive games.
