Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa has lit up the international break with an eye-catching performance that has once again linked his name to Barcelona.
The 20-year-old was a standout in Norway’s emphatic 3-0 win over Italy, scoring a sensational solo goal and registering an assist in what many are calling his international breakthrough.
Nusa’s goal, where he effortlessly glided through Italy’s backline before beating Gianluigi Donnarumma, was a moment of pure class.
It was not just the finish that stood out, as it was the composure, pace, and confidence with which he dismantled a top-tier defence.
Just a year ago, Antonio Nusa was on Barcelona’s radar as a potential low-cost option should their efforts to sign Nico Williams fall through.
Neither transfer materialised, but that interest seems far from dead, especially now that Nusa has reaffirmed his childhood affection for the Catalan giants.

Speaking to Norwegian broadcaster ‘TV2 Sport’, Nusa admitted: “When I was younger, my team was FC Barcelona, but now I am neutral. That’s the best I can say.”
While cautious in his comments, the connection is clear. Interestingly, his admiration for Barcelona is not limited to the club, as it extends to its players too.
Nusa openly praised Barcelona’s teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal, saying, “I would like to play with Lamine. I’d like to know what it’s like, it would be fun.”
The remark highlights just how much respect Yamal commands within the footballing world, especially from peers close to his age. For Nusa to publicly express that wish says plenty about Yamal’s growing stature.
Nusa’s numbers this season also speak volumes. For Leipzig, he has scored five goals and delivered eight assists in 40 matches.
On international duty, he has already produced three goals and two assists, a return that underlines his rising influence for club and country.
