The jubilation over Sunday's away win in Vorarlberg has barely died down, and the next challenge is already upon us. On Friday, we host LASK at the Red Bull Football Academy, with kick-off at 19:00.
A moment of brilliance from a tight angle, two stunning long-range goals, and a lightning-fast counter-attack – these were the ingredients that propelled our FC Red Bull Salzburg Women to their fourth consecutive victory in the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga last week, with Sophia Schirmbrand and her teammates winning 4-2 in Altach. This victory puts Pavlovic's team at the top of a group of teams from which, realistically, two clubs will advance to the four-team championship group.
One of the teams in the running are LASK, who conclude their four-match away tour of Austria on Friday. Their away games in Vienna, Graz and back to Vienna have been largely successful. Just last week, they suffered their first away defeat.
The first meeting with LASK Linz should set the tone, especially after our 3-0 victory there in August. In our penultimate home game before Christmas, we're hoping for your enthusiastic support. Admission to the Saalachspitz stadium is free. Alternatively, the match will be broadcast on ÖFB TV.
LASK are physically strong, organised and dangerous in attack. For us, it's about sticking to our game plan and bringing our energy and structure to the pitch. We're looking forward to taking the next step in our development.
Dusan Pavlovic
