Stephy Mavididi
Perhaps it's the effect of a possible qualification for the 2026 World Cup? Stephy Mavididi has decided to represent DR Congo.
DR Congo is on the verge of making history. After defeating Cameroon (1-0) and knocking out Nigeria (1-1, 4-3 on penalties), the Leopards are now just one step away from a historic World Cup qualification. Chancel Mbemba and his teammates still need to win the intercontinental play-off final next March to book their ticket.
While waiting for the play-off draw scheduled for November 20, the Leopards' journey seems to have made Stephy Mavididi reconsider his options. According to several local media outlets such as B-One Television and journalist Justin Kabumba, the Leicester player is now ready to play for DR Congo.
