Real Betis eye €10m move for second Real Madrid player

After finalising four summer signings before the transfer window has even opened, Real Madrid are still turning their attention to sales. Money must be recouped to make up for the big outlay on deals, which already totals €80m and will go much higher if the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Michael Olise are brought to the Bernabeu.

One of the signings that Real Madrid have made is Marc Cucurella. Last week, a €60m deal was agreed with Chelsea, thus allowing the Spain international to return to La Liga once his involvement at the 2026 World Cup is over. His arrival also means there are now four left-backs in the first team squad, thus guaranteeing that at least one of them will be sold.

At this stage, the player most likely to depart is Fran Garcia. The 26-year-old, who only has a year left on his contract, has been linked with a Premier League move, but there are also chances for him to remain in Spanish football, with MD reporting that Real Betis are considering a move for his services in the coming weeks.

Garcia is the second Real Madrid player that Betis are seeking to sign, with the first being Dani Ceballos – the midfielder will terminate his contract in the coming days, and a return to Andalusia is taken for granted. However, a deal for the defender will be much less straightforward, with Bernabeu bosses currently holding out for a considerable fee.

According to the report, Real Madrid are asking for €10m for any clubs that wish to sign Garcia this summer. This is a problem for Betis, who are unlikely to be willing to spend that on a defender – and on top of this, there are concerns about the wage package that he would demand, given he currently earns €5m gross per season at the Bernabeu. As a result, a deal could be tricky to be pulled off.
