The social media team at La Liga outfit Real Betis have this week sent a message the way of Tottenham Hotspur and its fans, regarding star frontman Troy Parrott.
Frontman Parrott has of course found himself centre stage in the media chatter across world football once more over the last 24 hours. This comes after the 24-year-old conjured up a moment of individual magic en route to netting one of his two goals in the Republic of Ireland’s Nations League meeting with Austria.
This kept alive what has been nothing short of a meteoric rise on Parrott’s part over the last year, now a prolific source of goals at club and international level alike.
With such consistent excellence comes inevitable chatter surrounding the striker’s future, amid timid links with some of Europe’s leading clubs.
Parrott only made the move to Spain with Real Betis this past summer, but rival fanbases from across the continent have already made clear their hopes of their respective clubs seeking out a deal for the Irishman.
As alluded to above, though, on Friday, the social media team in Seville moved to firmly shut down one such fanbase.
After a Tottenham supporter quizzed whether the rest of the club’s fanbase would be in favour of a reunion with Parrott, Betis’ official ‘X’ account responded with a simple yet resounding:
‘No.’
