While the senior stars take a break during the international window, attention has shifted towards the next generation of talent, and the La Liga FC Futures Under-12 World Cup has once again become a stage for rising stars to shine.

According to Mundo Deportivo, among the standout performers this year is a young talent from Real Madrid’s academy, namely, David Sanchez Miralles, who is making a name for himself with his exceptional performances.

As per the outlet, despite his very young age, Sanchez Miralles has already begun to separate himself from the rest of the competition.

What makes his rise even more remarkable is the contrast between his physical stature and his technical ability.

Standing at just around 1.30 metres (4’2”), he looks far ahead of his peers whenever on the ball.

His low centre of gravity, quick feet, and natural balance allow him to glide past defenders with ease.

Comparisons with Messi

It is no surprise, then, that comparisons are already being drawn with former Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.

Much like the Argentine legend in his early years, Sanchez Miralles thrives in tight spaces, dribbles past multiple opponents, and shows impressive control with both feet.

His breakout moment came during his debut against Wydad Casablanca, where he produced one of the standout moments of the competition.

In that match, the young Madrid talent scored a spectacular goal that included a Marseilles roulette – a move famously associated with Real Madrid icon Zinedine Zidane.

Journey and sacrifice

Sanchez Miralles’ journey has not been without sacrifice.

Having started out in the youth ranks of Elche, he was identified early and brought into Real Madrid’s academy system at a very young age.

This transition required him to move away from home early in his life.

While it is still very early in his development, the signs are extremely promising.

Performances like these not only put him in contention for the tournament’s MVP award but also show why Real Madrid continue to invest heavily in youth development.
