During Real Madrid's commanding 4-0 victory over Valencia, Vinicius Junior missed a penalty, but that didn't stop Los Blancos from cruising to a win. After the match, Xabi Alonso made it clear who Madrid's designated first-choice penalty taker is.
Mbappé had already bagged two goals in just 31 minutes. The penalty was awarded after Álvaro Carreras was fouled by Thierry Correia, but Vinicius' shot was denied by goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala.
He played a great game. I was frustrated about the missed penalty, right before halftime—we could have been 3-0 up. Thankfully, Jude scored right after.
Mbappé is our first-choice penalty taker. Even though Vinicius took it this time, Kylian remains our number one option.
