In a recent report, AS claimed that Real Madrid are hoping to re-sign Como playmaker Nico Paz. It has been stated that Los Blancos are eager to bring the Argentine talent back to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.

Paz’s Impressive Form In Serie A This Season

Paz is having a decent campaign at the Italian club after he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 21-year-old has banged in three goals and grabbed three assists in seven appearances for Como this season in all competitions.

The Argentine sensation has given a good account of himself in the final third as he is averaging 3.42 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has kept 45% of his attempts on target. Paz has even distributed the ball well in the opponent’s half, based on his pass completion rate of 76.5% in the top tier of Italian football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, it won’t be easy for Real Madrid to re-sign him on the cheap next year.

Should Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso Snap Paz Up?

Paz can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The Argentine talent can even make a few driving runs with the ball in the final third. Paz is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a centre-forward or as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can replicate his good form in La Liga if Los Blancos manage to bring him back to Spain next year.

Paz would no doubt enhance the quality of Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso’s attack in the long run. He is already good enough to challenge for regular first-team football at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

At 21, Paz has got the potential to be a future star in European football. Plus, the Argentine sensation could help the Madrid club compete across all fronts in the coming seasons. Thus, Los Blancos should focus on going all out to snap him up this January or at the end of this campaign.
