Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo Goes is eager to avoid comparisons with Brazil's greats.
Comparisons with icons are inevitable for any wonderkid, and Rodrygo understands what it's like to have big expectations placed on his shoulders from a young age.
"Since I began my career at Santos, they would call me the new Neymar or new Robinho," he told CBF TV.
"I've always had that burden on me. But I've always said that I want to be Rodrygo and make my own history.
"Robinho and Neymar are two big idols of Santos, of Brazil and of the clubs they've played for.
"But I have only just started and I am not thinking about being the new Neymar. There's only one Neymar.
"Since the start [of my career] I've always had this burden, but I continue wanting to be Rodrygo and not the new Neymar."
