At Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso’s future is more uncertain than ever. French midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni made a point to back his coach on the eve of the highly anticipated Champions League clash against Manchester City. According to Tchouameni, if Los Blancos collapsed against Celta, the blame lies primarily with the players.
"Honestly, for example, the match in Vigo… the coach had a good game plan, but in the end, it’s the players who are on the pitch. If we lose 0-2, that’s on us: intensity, mistakes… It’s not the coach’s fault. We have to improve, and we will," Tchouameni explained at the press conference.
