Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly already circling for the potential transfer of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

The two La Liga giants seem like obvious candidates to try to snap up Haaland in case he soon becomes available amid all the chaos currently unfolding at Man City.

The Norway international is one of the best players in the world and his signing has been one of many that has helped City become a major force in the game in the last decade or so.

Still, with the club now facing what will surely be a severe punishment after being found guilty of financial breaches, this surely means star players like Haaland could move on.

According to the Sun, this already has Real and Barca on alert and ready to swoop for Haaland if he soon becomes available.

Erling Haaland is the definition of a Galactico

Let’s be honest, something about Haaland and Real Madrid just fits, doesn’t it?

Los Blancos have a proud history of statement signings, having previously broken the world transfer record to land superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Their current squad also boasts this generation of Galacticos such as Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, so Haaland would fit right at home.

The 26-year-old could also be ideal for Barcelona right now as they need a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who left in the summer.

Raphinha has adapted well to playing up front, but a genuine goal machine like Haaland would undoubtedly appeal to the Catalan giants if he were to be on the market.

Haaland has 169 goals in 205 games for City and it would undoubtedly be devastating for them to lose him, but that’s surely now a more real prospect than ever as they wait to find out what kind of punishment they get for such serious rule-breaking.
