According to Mundo Deportivo, there is a growing sense of optimism and excitement within Real Madrid’s boardroom as the club continues an ambitious summer transfer window.

The board, recently renewed by president Florentino Perez and featuring several directors who have worked alongside him since he first took office in 2000, fully support the decisions being made as the club reshapes its squad ahead of the new season.

Confidence in the summer rebuild

The club’s hierarchy are pleased with the business completed so far.

Real Madrid have already signed Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, Bernardo Silva and Marc Cucurella, while the arrival of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande is also considered imminent.

The board are equally convinced that Jose Mourinho, who was brought in for his second spell at the club this summer, is the right manager to lead the new-look squad into the 2026-27 campaign.

Despite the significant investment already made, Real Madrid’s directors believe the club’s transfer business is not yet complete.

According to those within the board, there is confidence that Manchester City midfielder Rodri will become the next signing, providing what they see as the final piece of the squad.

The Spain international is viewed as the ideal replacement for the influence Toni Kroos brought to the midfield before his retirement, with the club believing that position still requires reinforcement.

As reported earlier, Real Madrid have made an official approach to Man City for the midfielder, with a valuation of €60 million being spoken about.

Optimism over Vinicius’ renewal

Alongside transfer activity, the board also remain focused on Vinicius Jr.’s contract situation.

The Brazilian forward has entered the final year of his current deal, but there is widespread confidence within the club that he will eventually agree to a contract extension.

Directors believe Vinicius will lower his financial demands during negotiations.

The forward is seeking a salary exceeding that of Kylian Mbappe, who currently earns more than €23 million per season through a package that includes €15 million in wages and approximately €8 million annually from his signing bonus.

Vinicius is currently reported to earn around €15 million per year and is seeking a significant increase. However, the board believes that he will eventually accept the club’s proposal and renew.

Confidence in Florentino

Within Real Madrid’s boardroom, there is strong belief that Florentino will once again succeed in resolving one of the club’s biggest contract negotiations.

The expectation among club directors is that both Rodri and Vinicius will be part of the Real Madrid squad for the 2026-27 season, completing what they hope will be another major step forward in the club’s long-term project.
