Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Tuesday provided an update on the wellbeing of star frontman Kylian Mbappé.

The name of Frenchman Mbappé has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital over the last 24 hours.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the 25-year-old had enjoyed a remarkable recovery from injury.

Mbappé suffered a thigh injury during Real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés last week, and was expected to be ruled out for three weeks as a result.

Less than a week later, however, the summer arrival in La Liga was included in Los Blancos’ travelling squad to face Lille in the Champions League.

Speaking to the media this evening, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Mbappé’s status for Wednesday’s clash was put to the aforementioned Ancelotti.

And, in his response, the Italian tactician went on to confirm that, remarkably, the former PSG man could even be afforded a starting berth:

“Kylian Mbappé has recovered well. He will train with us today, after that we will decide.

“If there is no risk, Mbappé will start tomorrow.”
