Real Madrid clarifies their stance on Trent Alexander-Arnold amidst Arsenal interest

Trent Alexander-Arnold was surprisingly linked with a January move to Arsenal last week as he struggles for relevance at Real Madrid, where he moved from Liverpool.

The defender has always struggled with the defensive side of the game, but when it comes to progressing the ball and delivering killer passes, there are few players in the world as good as him. This is why Liverpool did not worry as much about his defensive weaknesses during Jurgen Klopp’s time in charge.

Alexander-Arnold remains one of the top passers of the ball and could be an asset to Arsenal if they manage to add him to their squad. His ability to create opportunities from deep remains one of his most notable qualities.

Alexander-Arnold could return to England

He has certainly lost the battle for a place in the team to Denzel Dumfries at Real Madrid, and several reports suggest that he could be open to leaving the club. A return to the Premier League would reportedly be his preference, giving him the opportunity to compete in a league he knows well.

Alexander-Arnold has won two league titles and understands the demands of English football. Arsenal believes that his passing ability and experience could add value to their squad if they are able to bring him back to the Premier League.

The possibility of a January departure, however, appears complicated. Real Madrid still has control over his situation and would have to agree to let him leave before Arsenal could complete a deal.

Real Madrid could block Arsenal move

However, Fichajes reports that Real Madrid is not prepared to allow Alexander Arnold to leave the club during the January transfer window. That stance could make it difficult for Arsenal to pursue the defender despite the reported interest.

Arsenal could therefore struggle to bring him back to England in the middle of the season. Real Madrid’s position means the Gunners may have to wait if they remain interested in adding the defender to their squad.

For now, Alexander Arnold remains at Real Madrid despite the reports linking him with a move away. His future could become a more prominent issue as the season progresses, particularly if his opportunities in the team remain limited.
