Although not many expect Real Madrid to make any real moves in the upcoming January transfer window, the club remain on high alert for up-and-coming stars.

They have already been linked with moves for several young stars across Europe, with an eye for a potential move in the summer of 2026.

Keeping that in mind, Real Madrid are tracking one of the Spanish second division’s finest fullback prospects in Jorge Salinas, reports Defensa Central.

Who is Jorge Salinas?

A left-back by trade, Salinas currently plies his trade for Racing Santander in La Liga 2. At just 18, he has made a solid impression with his technical prowess and versatility.

Despite primarily being a right-back, Salinas is capable of operating as a centre-back, while his athleticism and pace make him a real asset at the back for his club.

Salinas’ performances have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid keeping close tabs on his progress at Racing Club.

Real Madrid have already sent scouts to watch him live, and it appears the player has impressed the onlookers with his talent.

However, securing the services of Jorge Salinas won’t be an easy task for Real Madrid, as the player is currently under contract until 2029.

As a homegrown talent, Salinas has already become sort of a favourite at Racing Santander and it is unlikely that the club would let him go easily.

Furthermore, Racing are one of the top candidates to earn a promotion to La Liga next season, which could make things even more difficult for Los Blancos, as Racing would then be able to promise the player regular game-time at the highest level of football.
