Real Madrid is considering replacing Álvaro Arbeloa with Unai Emery if a coaching change takes place after the season.

The club has been knocked out of the Copa del Rey and its Champions League campaign is looking increasingly complicated. President Florentino Pérez is beginning to doubt Arbeloa’s ability to succeed in the long term. Emery, 54, is currently managing Aston Villa. He has won 11 trophies in his career, including four Europa League titles and several trophies in France with PSG. He has also managed Arsenal, Spartak Moscow, and Valencia.

Preliminary talks have reportedly already taken place to check on his availability. Madrid wants to prepare a new sporting project for next season.
