Real Madrid’s homegrown midfield star Nico Paz is currently in his second season at Como and is slowly but surely gaining traction as a top prospect for Europe’s elite to poach.

Last season, he racked up six goals and eight assists for Como and he has started the new season even better as he has four goals and as many assists to his name after less than a third of the season.

Real Madrid were interested in bringing him back last summer but called off the plan after signing Franco Mastantuono. Yet, they continue to keep eyes on him and AS provide an update on his situation.

A chance to return

As relayed by the Spanish outlet, Real Madrid have not lost sight of the youngster and continue to maintain complete control over his situation as he plays his second season away from the club.

He is seen to be a medium-term bet, and the me in white thus kept three buy-back clauses on him – at €8 million for last summer, €9 million for the coming one and €10 million should they look to sign him back in 2027.

Nico’s return for next summer, thus, is not ruled out given that the 2027 option is unlikely. After all, several of Europe’s elite already have him on their radar and 2027 may thus be too late for Real Madrid to pull off the bargain transaction.

Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan are already interested in his signing, and the latter were reportedly willing to pay €58 million for the Argentine star.

Real Madrid retain 50% of his rights and a share of any eventual transfer fee that Como rake in from his departure.

Their priority, however, will be to back him and facilitate a return without letting his career change course.
