Real Madrid won at Celta Vigo on Friday, but Arda Guler left the pitch on 65 minutes at Balaidos looking exasperated.

In January he reacted towards head coach Alvaro Arbeloa during the Benfica defeat. He feels he is routinely the first withdrawn, while Fede Valverde, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior often finish 90 minutes. Sport reports that frustration in Türkiye mirrors his own.

Turkish journalist Ahmet Ercanlar defended him, saying Madrid are in chaos this year and he should not pay the price. He argued Guler knows his ability and, if the club cannot use him, he will draw big Premier League offers and leave. He added, “He cannot accept mediocrity.”

Ercanlar asked what Arbeloa expects, saying if you want art, he delivers, but he is not there to carry the load. He called Guler a rare talent who emerges perhaps once every 50 years.

Arbeloa insisted after the Vigo win that he has managed the Türkiye international fairly. “I don’t know if there is a coach who has used Guler more than me. I have trusted him since I arrived,” he said. He added that Palacios came on because he knows the task better, and concluded, “Real Madrid won, we all won.”
