Real Madrid are yet to make any progress in their bid to host concerts at their Santiago Bernabeu stadium. Los Blancos began with a began in the summer of 2024, hosting Taylor Swift for a three-day run at the Bernabeu, but since, the concerts have been halted to violations over city regulations.
Los Blancos had renovated the Bernabeu, with the ability to host concerts one of the fresh advantages and revenue streams predicted after doing so. However it was found that they were in violation of Madrid Council regulations due to the noise pollution, something they were taken to court over by a neighbourhood association. Despite multiple legal appeals, they are yet to find a breakthrough.

As explained by Marca, Real Madrid’s latest appeal to the Supreme Court has been rejected. Los Blancos had looked to appeal an appeal from the Neighbourhood Association of those harmed by the Bernabeu, from the Court of Contentious Issues, which dictated that Real Madrid’s event licence did not cover the hosting of concerts, and as such, they should not be able to host them.

Real Madrid were also quick to give their perspective on the matter, releasing a statement declaring that it was a simple bureaucratic process.
In light of the information published in various media outlets regarding the recent Supreme Court resolution, Real Madrid C. F. wishes to make the following clarifications:
The Supreme Court has not issued any resolution concerning the legality of the concerts held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
The decision disclosed today pertains exclusively to a procedural matter and means that the legal proceedings initiated by a neighborhood association will continue before the corresponding court.
Therefore, there is currently no judicial resolution declaring that the concerts held at the stadium were contrary to urban planning regulations or applicable licenses.
It is also worth noting that the organization of concerts at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium is subject to the same regime of authorizations and administrative controls applicable to other large sports venues, such as the Metropolitano Stadium, where concerts are also being held these days.
The legal proceedings will now continue their ordinary course, and it will be within this framework that the issues raised by the parties will, if necessary, be analysed.
Previously, President Florentino Perez has declared that they are working on ‘special rules‘ from the City Council in order to allow them to host concerts at the Bernabeu, but as of yet, those have not come into place. Equally, they do not have permission to host concerts without breaching noise pollution regulations as things stand.
